It may or may not have added wheat flour or wheat germ to make it "flow." Our local shop in Boulder has it mixed with fenugreek powder, which changes its flavor profile somewhat but still works well for Indian food. Your phodni sounds very good, too. It's the methi that makes all the difference to this kadhi.
