And the 'shakreyeh' sounded so similar to 'maseer kreyeh', that I would think that is where its roots lie. It is after all, supplied by the nomadic gujjars (the bakarwals - bakriwalas - goatherds) who must have migrated from Iran/Afghanistan to the Kashmir region.Anitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06002754872631420601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5156654.post-80750907014550603382007-04-15T15:47:00.000-06:002007-04-15T15:47:00.000-06:00Oh...don't say that Anita...neini is over-rated......Oh...don't say that Anita...neini is over-rated....and yoghurt can be very good as we all well know! :-) (10 min BTW)

So...this "mashir kreyah"...does kreyah mean "dried"?Pelicanohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00858951498917328458noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5156654.post-86394033625672851632007-04-15T04:15:00.000-06:002007-04-15T04:15:00.000-06:00My Mom confirmed that jammed/masheer kreyeh (that'...My Mom confirmed that jammed/masheer kreyeh (that's what I'm going to call it, BTW) is a sun-dried cheese.
